About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing healthcare team. This position is responsible for managing the full billing cycle, ensuring accurate claim submission, timely reimbursement, and resolution of billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance regulations, and revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers accurately and timely
  • Review patient accounts for billing accuracy and completeness
  • Follow up on denied, rejected, and unpaid claims
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
  • Post insurance and patient payments
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed
  • Work closely with providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve account issues
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
  • Assist with accounts receivable collections and aging reports
  • Document billing activities and account updates within practice management systems

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of medical billing experience
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
  • Experience with EOBs, claim appeals, and denial management
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR and billing software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • High School Diploma required; Certified Professional Biller (CPB) preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Physician practice, hospital, outpatient, or specialty healthcare billing
  • Government and commercial insurance billing
  • Revenue cycle management and accounts receivable follow-up
